• Imagine your ideal career five years from now. If you could do anything—if you could design your own role—what would it be? This broad, inspiring vision is your blank canvas.
• Think deeply about where you want to be professionally and personally. What excites you? What are your values? What impact do you want to make?
• Identify your key passions and interests. These are the vibrant colors that will bring your masterpiece to life. What activities energize and inspire you? What do you love to do?

2. Consider the Details

• Explore areas within Bayer where there is a demand or need for specific skills or expertise. Where can you make a unique contribution?
• Consider how your aspirations connect to our mission of Health for All, Hunger for None. How can your unique skills and passions contribute to this greater purpose?

3. Ask for Colleague Consultations

• While you might picture yourself working on your masterpiece alone in a sunlit studio, it’s important to seek out the opinions and advice of others.
• Ask five colleagues what they think your greatest strengths are, where you can improve, and where they see a need for your skills and passions.

4. Limit Your Inner Critic

• Identify any limiting beliefs that might be holding you back. These could be thoughts like "I don't have the right experience" or "I can’t predict how my colleagues will feel about this, so I won’t suggest it."
• Challenge these beliefs and reframe them in a positive light. What evidence do you have to support or refute these beliefs? How can you turn them into opportunities for growth?

5. Paint Your Vision

• Just like an artist combines colors and techniques to create a masterpiece, it’s time for you to bring together your strengths, passions, and areas for improvement, Bayer’s needs and mission, and feedback from trusted colleagues to identify an aspiration for your 5-year career vision.
• Dream big! Now is the time to be bold.

6. Step Back and Admire

• Review your vision and reflect on whether it truly captures what you want to achieve. Does it feel authentic and inspiring?
• Share your vision with colleagues or mentors and ask for their honest feedback. Their perspectives may help you see new possibilities or uncover hidden strengths.

Remember, creating a masterpiece takes time and dedication. Celebrate your progress, embrace the learning process, and don't be afraid to make adjustments along the way. With a clear vision, your career journey is about to become a work of art!
